Brothers and Sisters,

As members of Insulators Local 6, we and our families are fortunate to enjoy hard-fought financial security and industry-leading healthcare and retirement benefits, in addition to strong workplace protections. That’s why we prioritize giving back to our community every chance we get. We’re proud to highlight some of our very own union brothers who recently donated their labor and time to build a first-of-its-kind business resource center for veterans in Boston’s seaport.

Innovets — a new workspace and startup incubator created by Massachusetts Fallen Heroes — will serve to connect Boston veterans and their families to a range of resources, including within the local tech and startup community in order to help them establish and grow their own businesses.

Several of our members spent 12 days working at the new business center in South Boston, helping to build a community room, offices, and washrooms. Local 6 was proud to partner with our signatory contractors — Urban Insulation, Atlantic Contracting and Specialties, and veteran-owned Axion Specialty Contracting — who donated labor and materials to ensure that the building was updated with state-of-the-art thermal insulation.

Thank you to all of our Local 6 members and signatory contractors who donated their time, energy, and expertise to support returning soldiers and their families for generations to come.

In Solidarity,

Jim Lister
Business Manager/Financial Secretary
