Brothers and Sisters,

Because of the work we do, we all care deeply that projects done in our state, cities, and towns meet the highest standards.

A new proposed ordinance in the city of Peabody would require all new public works projects hire trained apprentices and mechanics if they want to do business with the city. This ordinance will lead to an increase in the hiring of skilled workers locally, improve standards for construction projects, and reduce the risk of unscrupulous businesses cutting corners on environmental regulations.

Local 6 is proud to support this ordinance and proud to stand with Councilors Jon Turco and Dave Gamache who are the lead sponsors of the ordinance. Read more on this in the Peabody Patch:

In solidarity,

Jeffrey Saliba
